Apple releases iOS 4.2 beta 3 update to registered iPhone and iPad application developers

Just a quick FYI. Apple expects to launch iOS4.2 in November to users.

Apple released its iOS 4.2 beta 3 update to registered iPhone and iPad application developers, adding iOS 4.2 beta 3 video tournew features highlighted by customizable tones designed to alert users when text messages arrive. Additional updates include new iPhone 4 wallpapers and enhanced restrictions settings for the Game Center multiplayer gaming platform, like expanded controls for adding friends. Also noteworthy: Apple reportedly disabled its new AirPlay wireless media streaming solution for applications including YouTube, Photos and Videos.

Apple is expected to introduce iOS 4.2 to all devices running the iOS operating system in November. The update will add multitasking and folders to the iPad tablet. iOS 4.2 also enables iPad developers to leverage Apple’s fledgling iAd mobile advertising network as well as Game Center.
